I noticed the other day that the Hain Celestial site in Fakenham (which produces the Linda McCartney range of frozen ready meals) was undergoing a bit of a revamp. The side which adjoins Holt Road has been taken away (presumably awaiting some new building work) and it has left a very striking set of horizontal layers with some fantastic lettering/ words (always something I love). I am told this was a Ross Young’s site a number of years ago and I think that’s what the blacked out words previously said. However, I quite like the resulting ‘Road Factory’ as a fortuitous combination of words!
Fakenham Life
This is a completely personal view of what, having lived here since 2005, I now think of as my home town. It features photos and words about this understated but really quite wonderful Norfolk market town which range from the predictable to the idiosyncratic and from the fun through to the serious. Please enjoy, and drop by regularly...
I'm a photographer (as if you hadn't guessed!) - if you'd like to know a bit more about what I get up to, please check out my web links and Facebook page below.

I saw that the other day too, with “Ross Young’s” fully exposed – the bottom line reads “Holt Road Factory – Home of the …?” Although I can’t remember what it was home to! As far as I’m aware Ross and Young’s split, Heinz took over the site (they owned Linda McCartney’s before selling to Hain), invested and built the triangular entrance/facade that front Holt Road… why part of that has been taken away I don’t know, yet! Worked there for a few years after leaving college so I’ll try and find out what’s going on.
