Corn Cob Pipe

What you can find on Fakenham Market when you look! This is a genuine, presumably lovingly handmade, presumably American corn cob pipe, made from a real corn cob! I think it cost the princely sum of 50p and, whilst I don’t smoke, I think it’s a wonderful thing.

Fakenham has been a market town for a long time – it was originally granted its Market Charter in 1250 – and the Thursday market, both a general market and a collectors market which takes over the centre of the town, is one of the it’s great attractions.

I will feature interesting market finds on Fakenham Life under a section called (no surprises) Market Life.
